Dishes in the Monarchy exhibition at the National Museum

If you one of the lucky people, who can spend some days in the wonderful capital of Czech Republic, Prague, you would see lauds of fantastic buildings, attractions and exhibitions. Prague is one of the greatest cultural centers in Europe.

Tourists usually visit the National Museum here, what is the main museum institution in Czech Republic. The main building has the name, National Museum too. Here there are always fantastic permanent and temporary exhibitions.

The National Museum’s old building is closed now because its renovation, but the other buildings, for example the new building is opened and waiting for the visitors with lots of programs. At present there is an amazing exhibition series in the Historical part of the museum, which presents the habits, history and interesting historical data in Czech Republic during the period of Monarchy.

One of these exhibitions is the Dishes in the Monarchy, which has opened since 5 October 2012 and it will be opened until 28 July 2013. This exhibition presents the phenomenon of food – the preparation, processing and consumption of food and drink in the second half of the 19th century, focusing particularly on eating habits, table settings, dining room decorations, and cutlery – and of course a number of period recipes.
