Prague City MuseumThe Muzeum Hlavniho Mesta Prahy (The Prague City Museum) gives home to several temporary and permanent exhibitions. The museum is located in a beautiful neo-Renaissance building designed by Antonín Balšánek.

The well organized permanent exhibitions in the museum covers the history of Prague from the prehistorical times to 1784. At the museum the various exhibitions show the first inhabitants, the life style of Prague and its area. The museum takes the visitors to a time travel through the different exhibitions and exhibited objects such as jewellery, clothes, various tools, sketches, drawings, furnitures and so on. The various times are separately shown to the visitors starting with the stone age through the medieval age to the time of Barque.

The museum is open every day from 9.00 to 18.00 except on Mondays when it is closed.
