Metallica Prague 2012

Metallica Prague 2012

On May 7th, this beautiful Monday, Metallica will come to Prague to rock the stage in the O2 Arena. This venue has a seating capacity of around 18,000 people, so it will for sure be crowded and a great atmosphere as the crowded venue welcomes Metallica on the stage. The rock!n roll band Metallica was formed in 1981, so they have a long history together, and now they are finally returning to Prague again (the were here last time in 2010). The band formed in Los Angeles and currently they are planning the release of a new album. Maybe it will come together with this tour?

If you would like to listen to Metallica as they perform in Prague you can buy tickets for the event and all the other Metallica events in Europe using the links further down on this page. Do not miss out on this chance to see James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo live in Prague.

While in Prague, why not go try out our Czech Beer dinner, or maybe enjoy a river cruise on the VLtava River?

Many people who come to Prague dream of a cruise or some kind of trip on the River Vltava. We can understand why, especially now as its getting warmer and you can enjoy the atmosphere of beautiful Prague from the river. There are many river cruises available, but we can recommend either the Lunch Cruise, the Dinner Cruise or the extended Dinner Cruise with a sightseeing tour included. Last week we helped a group of six persons and a group of 14 people with such tours, and when you are coming to Prague we would love to help you as well.

You can read more about the different cruises and also arrange with a booking at the following page: Prague River Cruises

Prague Dungeon

Many people have been to London and have visited London Dungeon while visiting the Brit Capital. In addition we know that such dungeons can also be found in York, Edinburg and Amsterdam, so therefore many ask the question if there exist such a thing as Prague Dungeon. The answer is unfortunately no, but maybe this could be a great business idea for someone.

In London you can meet with Jack the Ripper, hear about the plague, meet up in the court room and get to know Sweeney Tood… so maybe someone should create someone similar in Prague, but of course with local stars and stories!

Hard Rock Cafe Prague

Hard Rock Cafe Prague

Many people come to Prague to eat and taste the traditional Czech cuisine. But for others the Czech food is not at all as attractive as a good hamburger. But, where can you get the best hamburgers in Prague? According to many people, one of the best place to go for a real good hamburger in Prague would be Hard Rock Cafe. The location is ideal, the price level is nice and the atmosphere is amazing!

While our little brother Budapest has just recently opened their first Hard Rock Cafe restaurant, Prague has had Hard Rock Cafe for a long time, so they have a long experience in serving you some of the best hamburgers in Prague.

So take a walk from the Old Town Square in the direction of Charles Bridge. Just after the Astronomical Clock you will find Hotel Rott on the right side, and just there you will find Hard Rock Cafe as well! Enjoy!

Bandits – Heroes or Criminals?

Bandits – Heroes or Criminals?

The newest temporary exhibition currently on in the Ethnographic Museum in Prague is titled: Bandits – Heroes or Criminals? The question is whether the bandits really stole from the rich to give to the poor, or what did they really do? At this exhibition you can follow a real group of bandits and see their belongings, objects and what their life was like. The exhibition is supplemented with examples of later use of bandit imagery in naive and folklore art of the 20th century, and also remembers famous Czech robber Václav Babinský.

Red Museums

Red Museums

During Communism everything needed to be done the way your leaders told you. In what way did Communism influence the museums? This exhibition takes you back in time and shows you and introduces you to life during Communism, from a bit different perspective.

Official description of the exhibition:
The Red Museums (“Rudá muzea” in Czech) exhibition shows the general development in the museums and their transformation under the communist dictatorship. It captures development of traditional and ideological museums, halls of revolutionary traditions or expositions of native houses and memorial halls. It also focuses on acquiring activities of the museums – such as documentation of building of socialism or revolutionary transformation of the rural areas.

The “Red Museums” exhibition deals with symbols, language and rituals, that were typical for that period – not just in the museums. Their use in particular exhibition projects demonstrates interpretation of the Hussite movement, the Great October Socialist Revolution, Munich, the Slovak National Uprising, and the “Victorious” February. All the topics are accompanied by collected exhibits of the Czech museums collected prior to 1989.
