The John Lennon Wall is a wall in Prague where graffiti is allowed. It first started after the death of John Lennon in 1980. The police did not like it, but they were not able to stop the graffiti, so in the end they allowed it. Most of the graffiti is John Lennon inspired and contains pieces of Beatles lyrics.
During communism the wall was very annoying for the leader of the communist regime, Gustav Husak. He claimed that the wall was used as propaganda for alcoholics, mentally deranged and for Western Capitalism.
