Christmas markets
Before Christmas Prague turns into a fairytale city with small and large Christmas markets around the city. The most famous Christmas Markets in Prague is located at the Old Town Square and at the Wenceslas Square. Besides these you have smaller, but still nice, Christmas markets at Namesti Republiky, Namesti Miru and Havelske Trziste.
At the Christmas Markets you can buy handicrafts, toys, candles, ornaments for your Christmas tree, jewellery, Czech glass and of course hot food (of course), warm drinks like hot wine (svarene vino) and hot chocolate.
At the Old Town Square you can also see a large Christmas tree, enjoy choirs singing Christmas songs from stage. Besides this children can enjoy the mini-zoo, where it is possible to ride a poni, next to patting sheeps, goats and a lama. Someone said it feels like “Winter Wonderland”, and it truly does.
The markets open every year four Saturdays before December 24th, and they are normally open between 9.00 and 19.00.
