The annual Easter market in Prague is located at the Old Town Square in the heart of Prague. What to eat at the Easter markets in Prague?
Once again, you can buy food and drinks at the Easter markets in Prague. In fact, many people find the food stalls to be way more interesting than the other stands. But, what do you need to taste as you visit these markets?
The Czech Republic is well-known for its sausages. These might not be healthy, but they are incredibly tasty. They are normally served with bread. Sometimes the sausage is covered with all sorts of salads, while others just serve them with a piece of bread and either mustard or ketchup.
Prague is well-known for its ham, the so-called ražská šunka. They prepare these in large pieces of ham and you pay for the weight of meat that you buy. In other words, you don’t ask for one piece of ham, but you say you want to buy 200 grams or something like that. The course is often served together with potatoes.
You will also find something called Trdelník at the Easter markets in Prague. This isn’t originally from the Czech Republic but from present-day Romania. It is a sweet dough that is rolled around a stick and grilled. Later it is dipped in cinnamon, cocoa, or walnut. It is sweet, smells wonderful, and tastes evening better.
Another popular product is fried bread, often referred to as lángos. This is a salty dough fried in oil. In the end, it is often covered with garlic butter or with sour cream and cheese. Some also serve it with ketchup, meat, ham, and other variants.
These are just some of the things worth tasting and enjoying at the Easter markets in Prague.

Booking.comEA ApartHotel
This is an apartment hotel at the Wenceslas square. It is ideal for families who want to live in a place with a fridge, a big couch, and with a much bigger freedom than a hotel room normally gives. There are several apartments to choose from and it has a 24-hour reception, making it feel like a hotel, but coming with the service of a hotel. It is possible to book an apartment with breakfast included.
Iron Gate Hotel
This isn’t a cheap place, but it takes you back in time as you live in a five star hotel with a wonderful classic design on the rooms and the interior. It is located between the markets at the Old Town square and the Wenceslas square, a perfect solution for tourists in Prague. You can book your room with or without breakfast, it is possible to park a car at the location, and there are many additional services available to guests of this hotel.
Novotel Wenceslas square
This hotel isn’t at the Wenceslas square but a five-minute walk from the square. As a result, the name is tricking us a bit. But due to the distance, you get a cheaper room than booking a hotel at the actual square. This hotel has a great breakfast, a swimming pool, a rooftop terrace, and other useful services.
What about the Christmas markets?
We don’t know much about the Christmas markets in Prague yet, but our guess is that they will open on November 26th and remain open until January 6th. But, this is just a wild guess (based on our experience from the most recent years), so you should not buy your flight ticket already. Or, you can buy your flight ticket, but if you want to be 100% sure, then you shouldn’t arrive in Prague before December 3rd (by then the market will for sure be open).
